What is Construction Management?
The traditional model of building & home renovation has been to utilize the services of a General Contractor, letting them handle all the details.
Construction Management offers many of the services that any GC would offer but is more engaging & consultative, with additional oversight, visibility, and quality control.
Construction Management is a transparent & collaborative approach with client visibility built into the entire process, as opposed to an opaque lump sum cost that many GCs employ.
Instead of a GC saying “don’t worry, we’ll handle everything for you, you don’t need to be in the details”, with Construction Management we open our playbook and show you how it’s done, who’s doing what, and what it costs at every step of the journey.
How Does It Work?
Cost of labor and materials is open and upfront. Contractor and vendor selection is recommended, but never required or hidden. We do all the planning, legwork, and management, but you’re still in the driver’s seat with decision-making authority.
We make our money by simply applying a flat percentage on the overall cost to build. All expenditures are out in the open. Changes to scope are assessed and valued in real time, and the decision to do A, B, or C can be easily discussed and priced. This process allows greater flexibility, more manageable cost controls, and ultimately better client oversight.
We also find that this approach is more enjoyable & educational for the client, since our methodology is collaborative, informative, and conversational throughout the entire process, ensuring aligned incentives with all parties involved.

Process & Approach
From initial land acquisition, working with an architect, ideating on a build plan, putting together a budget, sourcing materials, scheduling contractors, and making it all happen to achieve a finished product — Industry Standard is at your side, guiding you at every step. We offer detailed guidance and best practices for your desired outcomes and guide you through the entire process.
Any project, even a small remodel, can become complicated without proper management, so it’s important to have a team with experience and insight to proactively navigate the process and creatively solve problems as they arise.
We have an in-house interior design team that can assist with the creative aspects your project however needed, understanding your aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and financial goals. Our designers can help with big picture design connecting & mood boards, to providing valuable input on floor plans and usability, to spec’ing finishes & fixtures, to developing furniture layouts.
Our budgeting & planning process takes into account every aspect of your project, from foundation work to door hinges. At this phase we map out timelines, discuss all the trades and systems we’ll want to involve, and “value engineer” line items to reduce cost as needed — giving you a real sense of what the construction process will look like before we break ground.
Once construction has commenced, we’re in regular communication with you on progress updates all the way to the final punch list, overseeing contractors, vendors, and specialists to ensure the work is going according to plan. Challenges arise on any project, but the sooner we know about it, the sooner we can find a solution and keep things moving.
In case you’re curious, we don’t sit around at the office. We’re consistently on-site reviewing work, guiding contractors, addressing challenges, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth operations — reporting the important stuff back to you in real time.
Our work isn’t done until you say it is. When the last bulb is installed, the punch list is checked off, and our final walkthrough is complete, we’ll raise a glass with you and toast to successful & lasting achievement we can all be proud of.
Furniture, Art, & Decor
After construction is complete, some clients like to continue the design journey and keep us involved to curate, source, and install a complimentary collection of handpicked furnishings, art, and decor.
For this, we work closely with our sister company, ZZ Driggs, specializing in full-service furnishing solutions for design-conscious clients. (We share two of the same founders, so it’s quite literally all in the family.)
